Spruce Pine UMC   Costa Rica Mission 2007
Friday

Greetings from Paradise, otherwise known as Costa Rica. Today was another hot day with full sun, lots of breaks for sunscreen and water. Our mission is finished and your missionaries are preparing for the trip back. It has been an incredible week; words can't begin to tell the many stories and experiences that we have to share with you.
We finished many projects today and ended our day at an organic farm where we had dinner with all food having been grown on that farm. We then had Holy Communion by candlelight in the open-air dining room next to a gurgling river with tree frogs peeping. Another incredible faith experience that we'll never forget.
As I said yesterday, each day brings new blessings and new surprises. Today we purchased a new, much-needed lawn mower for the camp. Our surprise of the day was "Buffalo Bill" Peter getting to ride a water buffalo.

you helped us purchase. Thank you, SPUMC.
Giddyup Peter! The buffalo's name, by the
way, is Elijah.

Peter and Neil are building an enclosure
around the water and electric service for the camp
property. Another 8-hour day with either a shovel,
pickax, or cement block in our hands. Praise God for
mission opportunities!

gray board just under the roofing) and varnished the
entire soffits (the undersides of the roof overhangs).
